Glass Design by Julie Nagesh
Fusing glass is my hobby and my passion. I am currently working on what I call glass drawings of human life, form and inspiration. My early pieces were inspired mostly by Asian art and the simplicity and beauty of nature, with the idea of bringing the outdoors inside the home.
My work has also been sold at the annual Galaxy of Glass at the Fallbrook Art Center, Jacob Maarse in Pasadena, Koi in South Pasadena, Wild Holly Gallery in Carefree, Arizona, Gallery 727 in downtown Los Angeles, the Arroyo Arts Collective, Avenue 50 Studio and the Acorn Gallery in Highland Park. My studio is conveniently located in my Mt. Washington home. To see some of my work, click on the categories below:

Behind the scenes . . .

Here I am in my studio working with red hot, molten glass to make peacock feathers. The open kiln is about 1750 degrees. It's best to save this kind of work for a cold day, if you can find one.
Fiber artist Connie Rohman
and I were putting the final touches on our collaborative work: "The L.A. River". Our fiber/glass piece was recentely exhibited at Gallery 727. It has also been featured in Los Angeles City Hall, the Acorn Gallery, and other venues throughout the City.
Precariously seated on home-made scaffolding, I re-balance one of the mobiles on a commissioned work in Cheviot Hills. The design of this piece was inspired by the paintings of Mondrian.
